IUT Clermont Auvergne
The Clermont Auvergne Institute of Technology (IUT) is a component of the Clermont Auvergne University. With 6 campuses, it is one of the largest in France and a major player in higher education networks and research teams’ programs in the Auvergne Rhone Alpes region.
It is 3,400 students, 440 permanent teaching and administrative staff, 700 part-time teachers from the professional world.
IUT Clermont Auvergne offers 15 specialties of the University Bachelor of Technology which makes it one of the most multidisciplinary Institutes of Technology in France.
Moulins Site
Our welcoming, human- scale campus (around 300 students) is located in Moulins, Allier.
Our program is based on a common curriculum over the 3-year program, plus 3 specific options to choose from, starting year 2.

Our IUT Campus is set at the heart of Moulins, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Capital of the Allier department, it welcomes close to 20 000 inhabitants, though the greater Moulins area is larger. The town and surroundings offer a friendly living environment with facilities for accomodation, cultural and recreational activites.
Presentation
Foreign exchange students at the Institute of Technology Clermont Auvergne – Moulins site - can join courses in English for 12 weeks during semester 5 (undergraduate level -1st cycle-). The courses during semester 5 are part of the third-year bachelor’s degree in international business. As such, international students will be joining a group of less than 20 French students enrolled on this course for specific modules taught in English. Some courses will also be reserved for international students only. The course itself represents around 300 hours over the fall semester. The program includes game-based approaches and serious game activities, enabling to grasp abstract business concepts and apply them more easily.
- Fieldwork: The program includes team-work tutored projects* in English: events organization, commercial development activities, marketing studies in relation with regional and international businesses. Students could also be eligible for a work placement in a local firm.
- Personal coaching: Students’ individual coaching, rallying the department’s professional and institutional networks, will help students refine their personal and professional project.
- Cultural awareness: The semester also includes specific activities related to world citizenship education notably sensitization to climate change. Students will also benefit from extracurricular cultural activities: companies visit, cultural visits, sports activities.
These varied teaching methods are obviously intended to accelerate and ease employability in students home country or abroad.

- International students are subject to continuous assessment (decided by the course’s teacher). They do not take final examinations.
- International students only follow tutorials, not lectures.

In pairs or small groups, students organize a one-hour visit of either a museum, the city, or a village in the surrounding area. Content : The whole program offered here to international students is a solid training on commercial development in foreign countries. This type of learning can’t be disconnected anymore with the planet’s boundaries and the need of social justice for all. The course will start with the Climate Fresk, a game-based activity designed to teach basic scientific foundations of climate change (accessible to everyone). Then the students will be engaged in a design-fiction process aiming at producing desirable narratives of the future. The process will be anchored in one specific sectorial activity chosen by the collective. The whole activity involves students in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Content : Work methodology is highly important for undergraduate students. It helps to build solid foundations for the learning process.
